For the friend organizing it all

The meal train, without the sign-up sheet.

One link the whole group chips into. We cook — slowly, in Paso Robles — and deliver everything frozen to the new family's door, anywhere in California.

Same generous idea. A lot less work.

A classic meal train is a beautiful thing. It's also a part-time job for whoever runs it. Here's what changes:

The classic meal train

  • Someone builds and babysits the sign-up sheet
  • Everyone cooks on their assigned day — and guesses at diets
  • Drop-offs to coordinate, doorbells during naps
  • Far-away friends can only watch the group chat
  • A fridge full of food that all expires the same week

A Mothership Meal Train

  • One link, shared once — that's the whole admin job
  • Everyone chips in what they like, from $5, and pays directly
  • Chef-made meals arrive frozen, in one delivery with dry ice
  • Friends anywhere in the world can contribute
  • The family heats what they want, when they want, for months

And if the goal isn't fully funded? Whatever was raised becomes a Mothership gift card for the family. Nothing is ever lost.

How it works

1. Start it in minutes

Pick the goal — a package or a dollar amount — add a note about the family, and get your shareable link.

2. Share the link

Group chat, office thread, family text. Everyone contributes what they like and pays on their own — you never touch the money.

3. We cook and deliver

The pooled total becomes chef-made meals, delivered frozen with dry ice to any California address.

What shows up at their door

48-Hour Bone Broth. Warming Chicken Soup. Saffron & Coconut Chicken Curry. Turmeric & Ginger Dal. Breakfasts they can eat one-handed. Sourdough from a five-year-old starter. And the brownies everyone keeps stealing.

Better than six lasagnas, and nobody had to drive across town with a casserole.

“I didn't have to think about trying to cook something in my limited free time because I had the most amazing soups lovingly prepared for me ready to go. Every bite is like a warm hug making you feel cared and truly nourished.”

Organizer questions

What's the difference between this and a classic meal train?

A classic meal train coordinates people to cook and deliver on assigned days. A Mothership Meal Train pools contributions through one shared link instead — friends chip in whatever they like, and the total becomes chef-made meals delivered frozen to the family in one box. No schedule, no drop-offs, no one guessing what to cook.

How do contributions work?

The organizer sets it up in a few minutes and shares one link. Each person chips in what they like (from $5) and pays directly — nobody has to collect money, chase Venmos, or handle a spreadsheet. Contributions add up toward a package, with progress visible on the page.

What happens if the goal isn't fully funded?

Whatever was raised becomes a Mothership gift card for the family, so nothing is ever lost. They can put it toward meals whenever they're ready.

Can friends and family who live far away join?

Yes — that's half the point. Contributors can be anywhere in the world; only the family receiving the meals needs a California address.

What does the family actually receive?

Chef-made meals, cooked slowly in Paso Robles and delivered frozen with dry ice in one box: bone broth, warming soups, curries, one-handed breakfasts, sourdough, and brownies. Everything keeps in the freezer up to 6 months, so they eat on their own schedule.

Does the organizer have to handle any money?

No. Every contributor pays securely on their own, straight through the shared link. The organizer just starts the train and shares it — the coordinating, cooking, and delivering are our job.
