A community-built, trauma-informed birth center for Contra Costa County is in development — with the mission to expand access, improve outcomes, and support families and birth professionals throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenting. Families deserve more than the current hospital-only model and home birth options. A community birth center fills a critical gap in access, continuity, and choice in perinatal care — improving outcomes and supporting families with dignity. Community Based Perinatla Care: • Increases family-centered care choices • Reduces interventions by offering evidence-based, holistic support • Supports continuity and trauma-informed practices for all families The Nest is currently in its early development phase, structured through community efforts and seed funding under PPC, LLC.
