ACPHD’s role with the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) has changed as the program has uniquely divided authority between the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The statewide CPSP program provides a wide range of services to pregnant individuals from conception through 60 days postpartum. In addition to standard obstetric services, qualified Medi-Cal providers may receive additional reimbursement for providing enhanced services in the areas of nutrition, psychosocial and health education. Please visit the California State Public Health CPSP Website for updates, enrollment requirements, forms, and templates. For general questions and assistance with CPSP training and CPSP protocols email MCAHCPSPGeneralInquiry@cdph.ca.gov . For billing inquiries contact Medi-Cal’s Telephone Service Center at (800) 541-5555 .

Perinatal therapists are counselors who focus on pregnancy, birth, and the first year. They're licensed (LMFT, LCSW, psychologist), and the PMH-C certification means extra training in perinatal mental health. Most offer video sessions, which matters when leaving the house is the hard part.
