Kate Drucker is a birth doula serving expectant couples/individuals in Truckee-Tahoe, Reno and South Lake Tahoe. I believe birth is a rite of passage that everyone passes regardless of how it happens. From the start, I collaborate with you to create the type of experience you envision and offer techniques and exercises both during pregnancy and labor to improve childbirth outcomes. My approach is non-judgemental, down-to-earth, and client-centered. I work in a way that is affirming, uplifting, and with you every step of the way. I began my doula journey after a series of volunteer experiences supporting birthing couples and individuals in both hospital and community settings and fell deeply in love with the work. I'm frankly honored to be in a role that is on purpose and helping women and new parents flourish.

Choosing a doula

A doula is non-medical support: someone who knows birth and the weeks after it, and stays with you through both. Birth doulas are with you in labor. Postpartum doulas come to the house afterward and help with the baby, feeding, meals, and letting you sleep. Many are certified through DONA, CAPPA, or ProDoula, and since 2023 Medi-Cal covers doula care in California, which is why so many doulas now hold an NPI number.
