The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and nutritious foods to supplement diets. WIC is a federally funded USDA nutrition program that is administered by the California Department of Public Health. Our WIC team includes registered dietitians, degreed nutritionists, International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), certified lactation educators, and other trained professionals. WIC services are provided at no cost. There are currently 16 CAPK-WIC sites, 3 facilities are located in San Bernardino County. Breastfeeding peer counselors provide one-on-one counseling and motivation to support mothers with their breastfeeding goals. Peer counselors are available for advice after regular business hours through text or call. Receive one-on-one nutrition education with a WIC nutrition education specialist/nutrition expert.
